(Jan. 18, 2006) – General Mills Bakeries & Foodservice today announced the availability of Pillsbury® Bakers’ Plus® Chocolate Supreme cake mix. As the newest flavor in the Bakers’ Plus line of mixes, Chocolate Supreme has a clean chocolate flavor and a natural, light chocolate color.
Pillsbury Bakers’ Plus Chocolate Supreme cake mix offers versatility and flexibility to operators, allowing them to create everything from cupcakes to layer and sheet cakes. “Creating a consistent product time and time again can be a real challenge to scratch bakers. The use of Pillsbury Bakers’ Plus mix helps ensure each cake is as good as the last,” said Betsy Frost, associate marketing manager, General Mills Bakeries & Foodservice. “The mix creates a rich, pudding-like batter that bakes up moist and tender.”
Industry reports indicate that 60 percent of retail bakers still bake from scratch, and 38 percent of a full-line retail bakery’s sales comes from cakes.
